Andrew Hay (born June 25, 1985 ) is a New Zealand ice hockey player who has played for the Botany Swarm since 2002 , for whom he has competed in the New Zealand Ice Hockey League since 2005 .

Career

Andrew Hay began his career at South Auckland Swarm , with whom he played in the then newly founded New Zealand Ice Hockey League from 2005 and remained loyal to the club even after it was renamed Botany Swarm in 2007. With the Swarm, whose team captain he has been since 2007, he was New Zealand ice hockey champion in 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2011.

International

In the junior division, Hay played for New Zealand at the U18 World Championship of the Asia-Oceania Division in 2002 and the U18 World Championship of Division III in 2003 and the U20 World Championship of Division III in 2004 and 2005 .

With the New Zealand men's selection , Hay participated in the Division II World Championships in 2005 , 2006 , 2008 , 2010 , 2011 , 2012 , 2013 , 2014 , 2015 , 2016 , 2017 and 2018 . At the World Championships in 2007 , when he was voted the best defender of the tournament, and in 2009 he played in Division III, but each time he was promoted to Division II.
