Angelika Zacek

Angelika Zacek (born January 29, 1971 in Vienna ) is an Austrian actress and director .

Life

Zacek was born in Vienna, where she also spent her childhood and youth. In 1990, she completed her five-year training with the Matura at the IT and Organization Department of the HTBLA in Vienna and has been an engineer ever since. From 1992 to 1995 she attended the Krauss drama school and passed her stage maturity examination before the joint examination commission in Vienna. She then worked as an actress at the " Theater mbH " under the direction of Johanna Tomek and at the Landesbühne Hanover and took part in radio plays on ORF .

In 2001 she moved to Berlin , founded a theater group in the Berlin independent scene and did her first work as a director. She was an intern and assistant director to Sebastian Nübling and Herbert Fritsch . From 2004 to 2008 she completed her directorial studies at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin under the mentoring of Thomas Ostermeier and has since been awarded the title of “Diplom-Director”.

Her staging of “Amphitryon” at the Mainfranken Theater in Würzburg was one of the most important factors in the award for “Courageous Theater Work” at the 2011 Bavarian Theater Days .

In 2012 she was a lecturer at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna. The production “Agent im Spiel” with the students was performed at the Schlosstheater Schönbrunn .

In 2017, together with 6 other directors, she founded the Pro Quote Bühne eV association and, as chairwoman of the board, is committed to promoting gender equality and equal opportunities in the theater landscape.
