Angelo Maria Cardinal Dolci (born July 12, 1867 in Civitella d'Agliano , Italy , † September 13, 1939 in Rome ) was Archbishop of Amalfi and later Cardinal Curia of the Roman Catholic Church .

Angelo Dolci received his theological and philosophical training at several universities in Rome and received the sacrament of priestly ordination in 1890 . He then took on various tasks as parish priest before he was appointed Bishop of Gubbio in 1900 . The episcopal ordination received Angelo Dolci by Cardinal Francesco Satolli ; Co- consecrators were Antonio Valbonesi , Bishop of Sant'Angelo in Vado , and Archbishop Rafael Merry del Val . 1906 Pope named him Pius X to Titular Archbishop of Nazianzus and apostolic delegate in Ecuador , Peru and Bolivia . In 1910 he was called back to Rome, and in 1911 he was appointed Archbishop of Amalfi. In 1914 the Pope sent him to Constantinople as an Apostolic Delegate and appointed him titular Archbishop of Hierapolis in Syria . In 1922 Angelo Maria Dolci became apostolic nuncio in Belgium , and a year later he took on the same task in Romania .

Pope Pius XI took him on March 13, 1933 as a cardinal priest with the titular church Santa Maria della Vittoria in the college of cardinals . On the same day he resigned from his office as nuncio in Romania and was appointed archpriest of the Patriarchal Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore that same year . In 1936 he was raised to Cardinal Bishop of Palestrina .

Angelo Dolci took part in the conclave of 1939 , in which Pope Pius XII. was chosen. He died on September 13, 1939 in Rome and was buried in his hometown.
