Anne Hobbs (born August 21, 1959 in Nottingham ) is a former British tennis player .

Career

Anne Hobbs won a total of two singles and eight doubles titles on the WTA Tour in her tennis career . She also played for Great Britain in the Wightman Cup and the Federation Cup .

She and her doubles partner Wendy Turnbull reached the finals of a Grand Slam tournament twice . In 1983 they lost the final of the Australian Open against the pairing Martina Navrátilová / Pam Shriver 4: 6, 7: 6, 2: 6 and in 1984 the final of the US Open also against Navrátilová / Shriver 2: 6, 4: 6.

In 1987 she reached the final of the Australian Open in mixed at the side of Andrew Castle , in which she lost to Zina Garrison and Sherwood Stewart 3: 6, 7: 6 5 , 6: 3.
