Anne Loch (born December 11, 1946 in Minden ; † April 4, 2014 in Promontogno ) was a German artist .

life and work

Anne Loch grew up in Minden . Between 1972 and 1978 she studied at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf as a master class student of Klaus Rinke . From 1980 to 1984 she lived and worked in Naples . From 1984 onwards, large, colorful, supercooled flower and landscape pictures in monumental formats were created in the studio in Cologne . In 1983 Monika Sprüth included the artist in her program. In 1987 the first solo exhibitions followed in museums such as in 1987 in the New Art Association Aachen and in 1988 in the Bonner Kunstverein .

In 1988 she turned away from the art world and went to Switzerland . She lived and worked in Thusis and lived completely withdrawn. In Thusis, she created around 500 of the more than 1400, mostly large-format paintings and drawings. During this period she met the Bernese gallery owner couple Erika and Otto Friedrich, who dedicated several exhibitions to her. Series with numerous photographs and the two film sketches Anarche and Der Tag in 1995 were created while hiking . In 1989, Loch began to record voice tapes, which she later processed into unpublished diaries.

In 2002 Loch returned to Germany, first to Duisburg and in 2008 to Essen , and continued to work on the groups of works he had begun in Switzerland. At the same time she turned to new, sometimes abstract images. The photograph and the text work remained part of her work.

In 2013 she was diagnosed with cancer. Anne Loch returned to Switzerland and died in the hospital in Promontogno.
