António dos Santos (Bishop)
António dos Santos (born April 14, 1932 in Vagos , Aveiro district , Portugal ; † March 26, 2018 in Guarda , Guarda district , Portugal) was a Portuguese clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Guarda .
Life
António dos Santos received in the July 1, 1956 Albergaria-a-Velha the priesthood for the Diocese of Aveiro . He was pastor in the diocese of Aveiro and vicar general .
Pope Paul VI appointed him on December 6, 1975 titular bishop of Tabbora and auxiliary bishop in Aveiro . He was ordained bishop by the Apostolic Nuncio in Portugal, Archbishop Giuseppe Maria Sensi , on April 4, 1976; Co- consecrators were Manuel d'Almeida Trindade , Bishop of Aveiro, and Archbishop Manuel Dos Santos Rocha , Bishop of Beja .
Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Guarda on November 17, 1979. On December 1, 2005, Pope Benedict XVI. his resignation request for health reasons.
