Anthony Kimlin (born January 20, 1990 in Ipswich , Queensland ) is an Australian ice hockey goalkeeper who has played for the Sydney Bears in the Australian Ice Hockey League since 2016 .

Career

Anthony Kimlin began his career as a hockey player with the Toronto City Blues and played the following years for other junior teams in Canada. In 2011 he moved to the Whitby Dunlops , the successor club to the two-time Allan Cup winner, who won the world championship title in 1958 as the Canadian national ice hockey team . Until 2016 he played the winter season for the team from the south of the province of Ontario , while he was active in the Australian Ice Hockey League in the North American summer . If he ran for the Gold Coast Blue Tongues in 2012 , he was in the 2013 Sydney Ice Dogs , with which he won the Goodall Cup, the Australian championship. In both years he was named the best goalkeeper in the league. In both years he had the best catch quota of all AIHL goalkeepers and in 2012 got the fewest goals against per game. He has been playing for the Sydney Bears since 2016 and was again named AIHL Goalkeeper of the Year in 2016 and 2018.

International

For Australia Kimlin was in the junior division at the U18 World Junior Championship Division II 2007 in goal.

In the men's area, he took part with the Australian team in the World Championships in Division I of 2012 and Division II in 2010 , 2013 , 2014 , 2016 , 2017 and 2018 . In 2013, 2014, 2017 and 2018 he was named the best player of his team and had the third best in 2010 and 2013, the second best in 2017 and 2018 and the best catch rate of all goalkeepers in the tournament in 2014 and 2016. In 2010 and 2017 he also achieved the second best goal against goals of the tournament. In 2016, 2017 and 2018 he was also voted the tournament's best goalkeeper.
