Anthony Muheria (born May 27, 1963 in Kaburugi ) is a Kenyan clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Nyeri .

Life

Anthony Muheria joined the Opus Dei personal prelature and was ordained a priest on June 13, 1993 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Embu on October 30, 2003 . The Apostolic Nuncio in Kenya , Giovanni Tonucci , donated his episcopal ordination on January 10 of the next year; Co- consecrators were John Njue , Coadju Archbishop of Nairobi , and Raphael S. Ndingi Mwana'a Nzeki , Archbishop of Nairobi.

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him Bishop of Kitui on June 28, 2008 . For the vacancy from December 2014 to June 2018 , he was appointed Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Machakos on February 21, 2015 .

On April 23, 2017, Pope Francis appointed him Archbishop of Nyeri. The inauguration took place on June 17th of the same year. Until the inauguration of his successor Joseph Mwongela on August 29, 2020, he administered the diocese of Kitui as Apostolic Administrator.
