The Roman Catholic Diocese of Kitui ( lat. : Dioecesis Kituiensis ) is in Kenya situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Kitui . It includes the Kitui County .

history

Pope Pius XII founded the Apostolic Prefecture Kitui with the Apostolic Constitution Quoniam superna on February 20, 1956 from cessions of territory from the Diocese of Meru and the Archdiocese of Nairobi .

On November 16, 1963, with the Apostolic Constitution of the Gospel of Christ , she was elevated to the status of a diocese, which was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Nairobi as a suffragan diocese.
