Anton Affentranger

Antonio "Anton" Affentranger (* 1956 in Argentina ) is a Swiss manager and former CEO of Implenia .

Career

education

Anton Affentranger was born to a Spaniard and a Swiss and grew up in Chile and Peru . In the 1950s, his father, one of twelve farmer's children from the canton of Lucerne , emigrated to Argentina as a trained cheese maker to work for Nestlé . Son Affentranger went to high school in the canton of Lucerne because his parents preferred to continue his education in Switzerland. He then studied economics at the University of Geneva and graduated with a licentiate . He later studied economics and political science at the University of Geneva and received a master's degree .

Career

Affentranger found his first job in 1981 at the Swiss Bank Corporation (SBG) , where he rose to all career levels up to General Manager in 15 years : he held the positions of Head of Project Finance in New York and Branch Manager in Hong Kong and Geneva before moving in 1996 was appointed to the general management of the UBS at the headquarters in Zurich . Because he disapproved of the merger of the SBG with the Swiss Bank Corporation (SBV) to form UBS , he left the new big bank. From 1998 to 2000 he was Managing Partner and CEO of Bank Lombard Odier & Cie . In 2000 he moved to Roche Holding in Basel as Chief Financial Officer . In 1999 he became a member of the Board of Directors of Zschokke Holding AG and Chairman of the Board of Directors in 2003.

Implenia

Affentranger chaired Implenia's Board of Directors from March 2006 to September 2011 . Between April 6, 2009 and August 31, 2010, Affentranger was an executive member of the Board as Chairman and CEO. On October 1, 2011, the Board of Directors appointed Affentranger as the new CEO of Implenia. At the same time he resigned from the board of directors and from the operational management of his private company. On October 1, 2018, Affentranger handed over the office of CEO to André Wyss.

Affentranger lives in Zurich, his place of origin is Grossdietwil . His passion is jogging , he ran the New York Marathon four times . He is committed to sustainability projects.

Affentranger has a 1.50% stake in Implenia AG. He is of the opinion that managing directors and board members should not only be wage or royalty recipients , but should risk their own skin (skin in the game) by investing financially in the company in question and / or exposing themselves more. He founded Affentranger Associates AG and is president of start-up companies .
