Anton Lehemeir

Anton Lehemeir (born April 18, 1841 in Hohenzell ; † July 21, 1933 in Trostberg ) was a photographer, watchmaker, mayor and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Lehemeir attended the Latin school in Munich from 1852 to 1856. He completed an apprenticeship as a watchmaker and worked from 1858 to 1868 in his profession in Florence , Rome , Naples , Paris and Vienna and toured Europe, Asia and Africa. In 1868 he settled in Trostberg and became mayor here in 1881, which he remained until 1919. He played a major role in the economic development and the enormous increase in population during his tenure. Expansion of hydropower, construction of the railway line Traunstein-Trostberg-Garching and settlement of the Süddeutsche Kalkstickstoffwerke (SKW today AlzChem ) as the first large companies fall into this period, as did the collection to the city , which was announced on June 12 1913th

On June 10, 1919, Lehemeir was made an honorary citizen of Trostberg , and he remained the second mayor of Trostberg until 1924.

From 1890 to 1912 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Upper Bavaria  8 ( Traunstein , Laufen , Berchtesgaden , Altötting ) and the German Center Party . From 1887 to 1907 he was a member of the Bavarian Chamber of Deputies .
