Anton Prommersberger (born July 15, 1981 in Benediktbeuern ) is a former German ice hockey player on the position of defender . His cousin Max is also a professional ice hockey player.

Career

Prommersberger began his career in the offspring of SC Reichersbeuern where he later moved to the student team of EC Bad Tölz , playing seven games for the first team of Tölz in the second Bundesliga for the first time in the 1997/98 season . In the 1998/99 season he joined the European Bauer Pioneers, who spent seven months in Canada under the direction of Franz Fritzmeier senior. Friendlies played across Canada. For the 1999/2000 season the defender moved to the young eagles Mannheim in the Oberliga-Nord, where he got 17 points in 59 games. In the following year, the Upper Bavarian returned to his homeland and played for the professional team of EC Bad Tölz. Thanks to a sponsorship license , the left-handed shooter completed his first DEL game for the Munich Barons this year . For the 2001/02 season Prommersberger was signed by the DEG Metro Stars , but was rarely used there, thanks to a sponsorship license, he gained match practice at EV Duisburg in the 2nd Bundesliga. In the 2002/03 season, the defender ran for ERC Ingolstadt , before moving to EV Landshut the following year , for which he also went on the ice in the 2003/04 season and with whom he was runner-up in the 2nd Bundesliga. In 2004/05 he returned to his home club EC Bad Tölz before signing a contract with the Wölfen Freiburg for the following year. Prommersberger also only stayed in Freiburg for a year. In 2006 he was hired by the Landshut Cannibals . The defender became a regular player in the three-helmets and was again runner-up in the 2nd Bundesliga in 2008 with Landshutern. Prommersberger played with the Cannibals until 2011, before returning to his home club after 5 years in Landshut. In the 2011/12 season he won the Oberliga championship with the Tölzer Löwen.

After another season with the Tölzer Löwen in the league, Prommersberger ended his career.

International

Anton Prommersberger took part in the U18 Junior World Championship in 1999 and in the U20 Junior World Championship in 2000 and 2001 .
