Max Prommersberger (born September 12, 1987 in Bad Tölz ) is a German ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Bietigheim Steelers in the DEL2 since May 2014 . His cousin Anton was also a hockey player.

Career

Prommersberger began his career in the junior team at EC Bad Tölz , where he was active with the junior team in the German junior league from 2002 . There the defender was able to improve constantly and was already one of the defensive players with the highest points two seasons later. In the 2004/05 season he was also called up by then coach Peter Obresa in the professional team of EC Bad Tölz, but was not used. In the following season he played 50 games in the 2nd Bundesliga and rose with the Tölz team after a last place in the play-downs in the league .

After the direct promotion to the second highest German division was missed in the following season , Prommersberger joined the then second division Eisbären Regensburg in the summer of 2007 . Prommersberger was then used in 43 games and scored eight points scorer. Since the polar bears had to file for bankruptcy at the end of the 2007/08 season and were no longer allowed to play in the 2nd Bundesliga, the now 20-year-old signed a contract with the Schwenninger Wild Wings . After expiry in the summer of 2009, this was extended for a further year to 2010 and later to 2012. Prommersberger went on the ice for the Wild Wings until the end of the 2011/12 season .

In June 2012 Prommersberger was signed by the Dresdner Eislöwen for one year and extended his contract in July 2013 for another year.

In May 2014, Max Prommersberger was signed by the Bietigheim Steelers . With the Steelers he achieved the title of DEL2 master in the 2014/15 and 2017/18 seasons. The Bietigheim Steelers extended the contract with Max Prommersberger in March 2015, July 2016, June 2017, April 2018, April 2019 and March 2020 by one year each.
