Cody Brenner (born January 19, 1997 in Bogen ) is a German - Canadian ice hockey goalkeeper who will be under contract with the Bietigheim Steelers from the DEL2 from the 2019/20 season .
Career
Cody Brenner began his career in the Deggendorfer SC youth team , where he was mainly used in the school league from 2010 to 2013. For the 2013/14 season he moved to the youth team of EV Regensburg in the German Junior League (DNL). In the years 2013 to 2017, in addition to the games in the DNL, Brenner also played for the professional team in Regensburg in the ice hockey league .
For the 2017/18 season , the young goalkeeper returned to Deggendorf with the Straubing Tigers as part of a sponsorship license . There he and his team were able to celebrate the main round win of the Oberliga Süd and finally promotion to the DEL 2 . In the following 2018/19 season , Brenner remained loyal to the two Lower Bavarian clubs. For the 2019/20 season, Brenner will switch to the Bietigheim Steelers , who are also based in the DEL2.
International
Cody Brenner represented Germany for the first time at the U-17 World Hockey Challenge 2014 . Three years later he won the silver medal at the U20 World Junior Championship of Division IA 2017 .
