Benjamin Hüfner (born January 7, 1991 in Berlin ) is a German ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Bietigheim Steelers in the DEL2 since 2017 .

Career

Benjamin Hüfner began his career as an ice hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of the Eisbären Juniors Berlin , for which he was active in the German youth league from 2006 to 2009 . In his last two DNL years, he played parallel for the first team of the Eisbären Juniors Berlin in the third-class league . From 2009 to 2011 the defender played for the professional team of the Dresden Ice Lions in the 2nd Bundesliga . At the same time, he played in the 2009/10 season for FASS Berlin in the Regionalliga , the fourth German division and in the 2010 preparation for the Eisbären Berlin , with whom he won the European Trophy .

For the 2011/12 season Hüfner was signed by ETC Crimmitschau from the 2nd Bundesliga. The 2014/15 season led the right-handed shooter to the Bietigheim Steelers in the DEL2 . With these he became DEL2 champion.

In the 2015/2016 season he played for the Lausitzer Füchse , then in the 2016/2017 season for the SC Riessersee .

Hüfner has been defender of the Steelers Bietigheim since the 2017/2018 season and again won the championship with the Steelers.

International

For Germany , Hüfner took part in the U18 Junior World Championship 2009 in Fargo / USA, as well as the U20 Junior World Championship 2011 in Buffalo / USA.
