Anton Rüller (born May 26, 1864 in Ascheberg ; † March 31, 1936 in Münster ) was a German sculptor .

Rüller is best known for his busts of Annette von Droste-Hülshoff and various figures in churches in and around Münster.

Life

Anton Rüller was born in Ascheberg in Westphalia in 1864 . He learned in the workshop of the Münster sculptor Heinrich Fleige . After his death in 1890, Rüller took over the workshop and developed his own style, especially in the field of portrait sculpture. In the following decades he created numerous public monuments and sacred figures as well as private tombs.

Rüller later taught at the Art School in Münster and taught, among other things, the goldsmith Ursula Bach-Wild .
