Anton Friedrich von Krockow (born January 4, 1714 in Polzin , † September 7, 1778 in Landshut ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

Life

origin

His parents were the imperial captain and heir to Polzin Philipp Reinhold von Krockow and his wife Anna Maria, née von Borcke . His younger brother was the Prussian general of the infantry Döring Wilhelm (1719–1803)

Military career

Krockow was from 1728 first as a private corporal in the infantry regiment "von Holstein" of the Prussian army . On the recommendation of the Polish King Stanislaus I. Leszczyński , he entered French services in 1735 and rose to the position of colonel of the cavalry . His repeated requests for re-employment were only fulfilled by King Friedrich II in March 1757. Krockow became a colonel and adjutant general with a patent from May 1, 1748 . After the death of Major General Christian Friedrich von Blanckensee , Krockow received his position as chief of the dragoon regiment of the same name . During the Seven Years' War he was promoted to lieutenant general until April 1760 and took part in the battles near Prague , Kolin , Hochkirch , Liegnitz and Torgau . In Leuthen Krockow was wounded.

In June 1769 the king appointed him governor of Neuenhagen and Freienwalde. He also proposed Krockow on January 18, 1773 to the Knight of the Black Eagle Order . At the beginning of the War of the Bavarian Succession , he marched out of the garrison with his regiment and died of a stroke in the king's camp .

Krockow had married Auguste Luise Heinriette Freiin von Lüders († 1790). The following children were born from the marriage:
