Christian Friedrich von Blanckensee
Christian Friedrich von Blanckensee (born September 6, 1716 in Reichenbach , † May 27, 1757 near Prague ) was a Prussian major general , chief of the Dragoon Regiment No. 2 and knight of the order Pour le Mérite .
Life
origin
His parents were the Prussian major general Wolf Christoph von Blanckensee and Anna von Witten.
Military career
Blanckensee was initially a cadet in Berlin from mid-August 1731 and was employed on May 30, 1735 as a private corporal in the "Graf Dönhoff" infantry regiment of the Prussian Army . At the end of the year he was promoted to ensign and in May 1739 became a lieutenant.
He became captain in 1741 and during the First Silesian War he came to Friedrich II as a wing adjutant . Blanckensee took part in the battles at Mollwitz and Chotusitz and the sieges of Brieg and Neisse . During the campaign of 1744/45 he was then at the siege of Prague, fought at Hohenfriedberg and Thrush . Since the king had recognized his talent, he promoted him directly to lieutenant colonel in February 1745 and shortly thereafter appointed him commander of the "Gessler" cuirassier regiment . In May 1747 he became a colonel , in September 1754 he was appointed major general and received the "Mahlen" dragoon regiment. He died during the Seven Years' War of a foot injury sustained in the Battle of Prague .
family
He was married twice. His first wife was Marie Juliane von Flemming (born November 3, 1724, † June 28, 1773) from the Böck family. The couple had a son:
- Alexander Sigismund Friedrich Richard Georg (January 15, 1747 - April 17, 1817) Herr auf Filehne (Prussian Count from July 5, 1798) ∞ Dorothea Auguste von Hagen (January 16, 1751 - January 10, 1819)
After divorcing his first wife, he married Frederike Luise von Boden (* August 12, 1724, † January 14, 1805) the daughter of Minister August Friedrich von Boden . The couple had two sons. One died young, the second drowned while bathing.
