Wolf Alexander Ernst Christoph von Blanckensee

Wolf Alexander Ernst Christoph von Blankensee (born April 17, 1684 Reichenbach ; † September 30, 1745 in Soor ) was a Prussian major general , chief of infantry regiment No. 23 and governor of Neidenburg and Soldau .

Life

origin

He was the son of Colonel Christian Henning von Blanckensee (* 1645; † September 7, 1693 near Belgrade ) and Hedwig Juliana von Volkmar.

Military career

In 1719 Blanckensee joined the "Forcade" Infantry Regiment No. 23 . On January 17, 1721 he was already major and in 1732 lieutenant colonel . At that time he was commissioned by King Friedrich I with the expansion of Friedrichstadt in Berlin . Blanckensee then fell out of favor for some time, but then reconciled with the king. In 1736, for example, he received the administrative authorities of Neidenburg and Soldau and a gift of 500 ducats . In 1740 he became a colonel and on May 28, 1743 major general. In July of that year he became chief of Infantry Regiment No. 23. His son Friedrich Wilhelm was a lieutenant and became its adjutant general. In the Battle of Thrush , both were killed by the same cannonball.

He was involved in the Pomeranian campaign in 1715/16 , in the fighting on the Rhine in 1734/1735 and in the First Silesian War .

family

Blanckensee married Anna von Witten on September 9, 1714 (* October 23, 1698; † August 1731). She was the stepdaughter of General Hans Kaspar von Herzberg . Three of his sons died in the Seven Years' War . He and his wife had the following children:
