The Aproz Sources Minerales SA , based in Aproz , a town in the municipality Nendaz , is a company of the Swiss retail group Migros . It produces mineral water and other soft drinks . The Aproz mineral waters come from various sources in the Valais Alps up to an altitude of 1870 m.

history

The company Seba SA was founded in 1947 shortly after the discovery of the original sources (the abbreviation stands for Société d'extension de boissons alimentaires ). In 1953 she built a small factory made of wood. From the mid-1950s, the Migros Cooperative Geneva was the largest buyer of Aproz mineral water. Even so, the company ran into financial difficulties and was on the verge of bankruptcy. Migros founder Gottlieb Duttweiler resisted taking over the company for a long time, but then allowed Alfred Gehrig , the head of Migros Geneva, to change his mind. On 17th 1958, the Migros-Genossenschafts-Bund acquired 90% of the shares in Seba SA and subsequently massively expanded production.

In 1967 the company built a modern syrup plant, in 1973 it opened up the new Confartyre spring . The PET bottle has been in use here since 1991 and replaced the glass bottles , whose use initially ended six years later. Their use has since been reintroduced. In 1999 the company moved its headquarters from Geneva to Aproz and renamed itself Seba Aproz SA . In 2008 the company was renamed Aproz Sources Minérales SA .
