Arbignieu is a French village with 507 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the Ain department in the region of Auvergne Rhône-Alpes and belonged to the canton of Belley in the same district . The municipality of Arbignieu, which existed until January 1, 2016, was incorporated into the Commune nouvelle Arboys en Bugey by a decree of September 29, 2015 and has since been its main town (Chef-lieu) and a commune déléguée .
