Arcadis Ost 1 is a planned offshore wind farm in the coastal region of the German Baltic Sea , north-northeast of the island of Rügen .
location
The area of Arcadis Ost 1 is located in the Baltic Sea within the boundaries of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and is about 19 kilometers away from Cape Arkona on Rügen, with the almost triangular planning area of the wind farm being about 30 km². In the north-south direction the area extends over about 3½ kilometers, while the extent from north-west to south-east will be about 15 kilometers.
history
The planning for Arcadis Ost 1 was originally developed by the project developer Arcadis . In autumn 2008, WV Energie , a joint venture of around 150 primarily municipal companies , acquired the pre-developed project and transferred it to the project company KNK Wind GmbH , based in Bad Vilbel .
Initially involved in KNK Wind : WV Energie, Nordex , Innsbrucker Kommunalbetriebe and Stadtwerke Bad Vilbel
On April 1, 2011, the regional planning procedure for Arcadis Ost 1 was opened. It was concluded with the state planning assessment of February 4, 2013 by the Ministry for Energy, Infrastructure and State Development of the State of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania as the highest state planning authority.
On December 20, 2012, KNK Wind applied for :
- the construction and operation of 58 wind turbines with a total output of 348 megawatts
- the construction of a transformer platform
- the park-internal cabling at medium voltage level
By decision of September 29, 2014, the State Office for Agriculture and Environment Western Pomerania approved the project in accordance with the Federal Immission Control Act .
According to an original schedule, construction of the wind farm should start in 2016 so that the 58 wind turbines should be operational by the end of 2018.
For Arcadis Ost 1 , KNK Wind was awarded a contract for 247.25 MW in accordance with the offshore wind energy law in April 2018 . This means that only part of the grid connection capacity is secured.
In May 2018, the Belgian offshore wind farm developer Parkwind bought the rights to the wind farm. The operating company KNK Wind has been operating as Parkwind Ost GmbH since July 2019 .
Wind turbines
58 wind turbines of the type GE Wind Energy (formerly: Alstom) Haliade 150-6MW with a nominal output of 6 MW and a rotor diameter of 150 m were to be used, which are to be built on jacket foundation structures at water depths of 41-46 m should.
After Parkwind took over the project , planning was carried out in favor of fewer wind turbines, each with more power. At the end of 2019 , Parkwind and MHI Vestas signed a contract for the delivery of 27 V174-9.5 MW turbines with a rotor diameter of 174 m and a nominal output of 9.5 megawatts. To build it up, capacities at Heerema Marine Contractors have already been secured for a newly developed construction method using a floating crane . The machines will be based on monopile foundations manufactured by Steelwind in Nordenham . Dillinger supplies the heavy plates for this.
Mains connection
The electricity generated in the wind turbines is routed via the internal farm cabling to the transformer platform in the wind farm, where the electricity is transformed to 220 kV maximum voltage . The Baltic Eagle offshore wind farm will also connect there. From there, the electricity is to be transported to the transmission network on land via submarine and underground cables. The platform is manufactured by the Danish Bladt Industries and equipped with the electrical components by the Indian Semco Group .
To plan the external cable route, a regional planning procedure with a regional planning assessment was carried out on June 15, 2011. Initially, it was planned to land the three-phase connection near Juliusruh on Rügen and from there to lead it on land to the Lüdershagen substation . These plans have since been changed. The cable route called Ostwind 2 is no longer to run over the island of Rügen, but largely through the Baltic Sea east of Rügen. Ostwind 2 consists of a three-phase line system with three cables and runs largely parallel to the Ostwind 1 line . The cable system is landed at Lubmin and carried on from there to the substation. The transmission system operator 50Hertz Transmission is responsible for the grid connection .
