In 1971 he was promoted to CEO of the life insurance subsidiary Allianz Lebensversicherung. At the same time, he initiated the technical modernization of the insurer and established a new, more effective management structure, new products such as nursing pension insurance were brought onto the market and an externally certified proof of the permanently achievable surplus participation was introduced, which later resulted in the proof of financial feasibility that is later required by the supervisory authorities .
