Rolf Raiser
Rolf (Rudolf) Carl Eduard Raiser (born May 19, 1903 in Stuttgart ; † February 9, 1973 there ) was a German insurance lawyer.
Career
Raiser was born to the lawyer Carl Raiser (1872-1954). In 1921 he graduated from the Eberhard-Ludwigs-Gymnasium in Stuttgart and studied law in Tübingen, Leipzig, Rostock and Berlin. After training as an insurance salesman, in 1931 he joined the Württemberg fire insurance company, which was run by his father, as a legal counsel . In 1937 he was appointed to the board and in 1953 appointed chairman and general director. He remained in this position until 1961.
From 1958 to 1961 he was President of the General Association of the German Insurance Industry .
His brother was the lawyer Ludwig Raiser . Since 1921 he was a member of the student union Akademische Gesellschaft Stuttgardia Tübingen . His son is the lawyer Thomas Raiser .
