Aron Kifle (born February 20, 1998 ) is an Eritrean long-distance runner .

Athletic career

Aron Kifle gained his first international experience at the 2015 Cross Country World Championships in Guiyang , where he took 19th place in the U20 classification after 24:52 minutes and won the bronze medal in the team classification. In the 5000 meter run , he qualified for the World Championships in Beijing , where he was eliminated with 1: 25.85 min in the preliminary round. He then finished eighth at the Africa Games in Brazzaville in 13: 26.85 minutes. The following year he won the silver medal in the 10,000-meter run at the U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz in 27: 26.20 minutes and finished fifth over 5000 meters in 13: 31.09 minutes. He then took part in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro over 5000 meters , but did not reach the final with 13: 29.45 min . At the 2017 World Cross Country Championships in Kampala , he finished fifth after 28:49 minutes and reached the final at the 5000 meter World Championships in London , where he finished seventh with 13:36.91 minutes. He was also eleventh over 10,000 meters in 27: 09.92 minutes. At the 2018 Half Marathon World Championships in Valencia , he won the bronze medal in 1:00:31 h and only had to admit defeat to Kenyan Geoffrey Kamworor and Abraham Cheroben from Bahrain. The following year he was fourth at the World Cross Country Championships in Aarhus after 32:04 minutes and then won the silver medal over 10,000 meters behind the Ethiopian Berehanu Tsegu at the African Games in Rabat in 27: 57.79 minutes . He also took part in the World Championships in Doha over this distance and finished 15th there in 28: 16.74 minutes.
