Arthur Ernst Weber (born August 3, 1879 in Fechenheim , district of Frankfurt am Main since 1928 ; † June 7, 1975 in Eschwege ) was a German balneologist , cardiologist and university professor .

Family and education

Professional background

Arthur Weber got a position as a scientific assistant at the eye clinic in Greifswald immediately after his doctorate . After the following years of assistance at the Physiological Institute of the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg , at the Pathological Institute of the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel and at the Hygiene Institute of the University of Graz , he returned to Greifswald, where he was employed at the Medical University Clinic. In the winter semester of 1905/06 Arthur Weber moved to the Medical University Clinic of the Justus Liebig University in Gießen , where he completed his habilitation in 1909 as a private lecturer for the subject of internal medicine , in 1914 he became an associate professor, in 1930 he was appointed as an associate professor for balneology, in 1941 promoted to full professor. Weber retired in 1953 . In addition, from 1914 to 1955 he was the head of the Balneological Institute in Bad Nauheim . He was also employed there from 1926 to 1944 as the chief physician of important spa establishments.

Work and appreciation
