Ashly Burch (born June 19, 1990 in Phoenix, Arizona ) is an American actress , screenwriter , writer , director , singer and voice actress .

Life

Burch began her career with the US-American Youtube comedy series Hey Ash, Whatcha Playin '? , which she wrote together with her brother from 2008 and in which she played the main role of Ash . After the death of her partner, the actor and screenwriter David Fetzer , she concentrated more on her dubbing and writing activities. She became known and awarded in 2015 for her voice as Chloe Price in the game Life Is Strange . Burch played the lead role of Aloy in the 2017 game Horizon Zero Dawn , which became the most successful new first-party franchise for Playstation 4 with 7.6 million units sold within one year of its release . That same year, Burch was unable to resume her role of Chloe Price in Life Is Strange's follow-up , Life Is Strange: Before the Storm , due to the strike by the American Association of Television and Radio Artists SAG-AFTRA . After the end of the strike, she took over the role for the bonus episode Lebewohl (original English title Farewell ), which appeared in spring 2018 . Burch also worked as a singer on two soundtracks for TV series.

Burch was nominated for a BAFTA Video Games Award for her roles in Life Is Strange and Horizon Zero Dawn in 2016 and 2018 . In 2015 and 2017 she won a total of three Golden Joystick Awards .

As part of the writing team for the Adventure Time series , Burch was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award in the Outstanding Short Form Animated Program category in 2016, 2017 and 2018 , which she won in 2017.
