Vechtaer Moorbach near Astrup

Astrup is a peasantry in the south of the town of Visbek in South Oldenburg region district of Vechta in Lower Saxony .

Geography and landscape

Astrup is about four kilometers south of the Visbeck town center. The district road K 334 (Visbeker Damm) from Visbek to Vechta runs about one kilometer west of the village of Astrup.

Astrup was 872 for the first time as Estithorpe mentioned, 1496 Astorpe . The defining word of this old village name goes back to a Germanic personal name that cannot be determined.

In the north of the farmers lies the Heideweiher Trennmoor , a Schlatt-like small body of water . Characteristic of the separation moor is the island in its center, overgrown with willows and other moisture-loving trees, as well as reeds. The Lutter Mühlenbach rises to the north-east of the Trennmoors and first flows through it before passing Astrup on the eastern edge of the village.

Northwest of the location Astrup rises near the depths Unterschlatt at Bauer shaft Hagstedt the Vechtaer Moorbach , the Astrup, in turn, passes on the south edge and in its further course towards the south to the level Holtrup along a primitive lowland forest with a comparatively high structural diversity winds.

The shooting sport is in the St. Hubertus Schützenbruderschaft Norddöllen-Astrup e. V. and traditionally celebrated every year at the end of April / beginning of May with the first shooting festival of the season in the Visbek community on the fairground in Norddöllen under the motto “For Faith, Customs and Home”.
