The Aubach is a stream in northern Burgenland and the upper section of the Ikva . It rises in the Ödenburg Mountains within the Rohrbacher Forest near Rohrbach near Mattersburg . The brook changes its name several times until it reaches the city of Sopron (dt. Ödenburg). In the area around Schattendorf it is called Tauscherbach or Zeiselbach . Between Schattendorf and Ágfalva , it passes the Austrian / Hungarian border south of the Klingenbach / Sopron border crossing , where it is now referred to in German as Spitalbach and in Hungarian as Ikva. The Hungarian name is probably a modification of the Old High German Eichaha with the meaning Eichenbach .
In addition to the Leitha , Wulka , the Stoober Bach , the Rabnitz , the Zöbernbach , the Güns , as well as the Pinka , the Strem , the Lafnitz and the Raab river, it drains the Burgenland to the east until this water flows into the Danube .
