Aubrey Lamar Reese (born October 13, 1978 in Auburn , Alabama ) is an American basketball player . As a professional, Reese played in the Turkish TBL basketball league in particular . In the 2011/12 season he played again under the Turkish coach Murat Didin in the German second division Pro A at the Gloria Giants from Düsseldorf , after he was already active under this coach in the 2009/10 season at the Skyliners from Frankfurt .
Career
After Reese was initially active in the summer league United States Basketball League and the Continental Basketball Association after completing his studies , he moved to Russia as Player of the Year of the USBL 2001 for the 2001/02 season . The following season he was active for the French first division returnee Chorale Basket from Roanne . He then moved to Turkey to Tekelspor, for which he was also active in the 2005/06 season with a one-year break, in which he played in the Israeli Ligat ha'Al . The next season he played for Beşiktaş Cola Turka from Istanbul , with whom he, as with Tekelspor before, did not get beyond the quarter-finals of the Turkish championship. While Tekelspor was relegated, Reese first moved to Ukraine and then returned to the Turkish basketball league again in February 2008, this time wearing Mersin Buyuksehir's jersey. The following season he played at Aliağa Petkim GSK. Both clubs did not qualify for the play-offs for the Turkish championship. In the 2009/10 season he moved to Germany to the Skyliners Frankfurt, who were trained by the Turkish coach Murat Didin. While Didin was sacked shortly before the end of the season, the Skyliners under the new coach Gordon Herbert surprisingly reached both the cup finals and the final of the German championship, both of which were lost to the Brose Baskets from Bamberg . In the 2010/11 season, Reese initially returned to Mersin in Turkey, but only played the first four games of the season, all of which were lost. For the 2011/12 season Didin brought him back to Germany for first division relegated Giants Düsseldorf.
