Augsburg-Bergheim is the 42nd district of the Bavarian city of Augsburg and the only part of the Bergheim planning area of ​​the same name . On December 31, 2013, around 2,600 people lived in the 22 km² district. This makes Bergheim the most sparsely populated district of Augsburg.

The Bergheim district consists of five districts : The main town itself as well as Gut Bannacker (in the southwest on the municipal border with Bobingen ), Neubergheim (northeast of the main town), Radegundis (in the northwest on the municipal border with Stadtbergen ) and Wellenburg (town and castle, between Main town and Radegundis). The approximately 22 km² area is located in the southwest of Augsburg.

Waters

The Diebelbach , a groundwater ditch with a slight gradient, usually only a slight water flow, flows through the Bergheim district from Gut Bannacker in the southwest to the fire settlement in the northeast, where it flows into the Wertach . The Bergheimer Baggersee is located between the districts of Bergheim and Neubergheim.

Adjacent areas

In the east, the Bergheim district is bounded by the Wertach and the Augsburg districts of Inningen and Göggingen. The municipality of Stadtbergen (OT Leitershofen) connects to the north . The southern border is formed by the area of ​​the city of Bobingen , while the nature park connects to the western forests in the west .

Demographics

As of December 31, 2013, the 42nd district had around 2,608 residents with main and secondary residence, of which 77 had a foreign passport at that time - this corresponds to a proportion of foreigners of 2.95 percent. This means that Bergheim has the lowest proportion of foreigners in all of Augsburg. At the same time, 50.84 percent of the borough's residents were women - 1,326 people.

Like many more rural regions, Bergheim is generally over-aged: on January 1, 2006, the group of over 40 to under 65 year olds made up the largest proportion of the age pyramid with 1,037 people - almost 40 percent. The group of 20 to 40 year olds follows in second place with 527 people.
