Auguste Delisle

Auguste Delisle CSSp (born July 7, 1908 in Montreal , Canada ; † November 13, 2006 ) was a Canadian religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Lokoja .

Life

Auguste Delisle joined on 17 June 1927, the Congregation of the Holy Ghost Fathers at. He put on 8 June 1934, the perpetual profession from and received on 17 June of the same year by the Cardinal Vicar of the Diocese of Rome , Francesco Marchetti Selvaggiani , the sacrament of Holy Orders . On May 27, 1955, Pope Pius XII appointed him . to the first Apostolic Prefect of Kabba.

On July 6, 1964, Auguste Delisle became the first bishop of Kabba (later: Lokoja) as a result of the elevation of the Apostolic Prefecture of Kabba . The Apostolic Delegate in Canada, Archbishop Sergio Pignedoli , donated him episcopal ordination on August 24th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Hull , Paul-Émile Charbonneau , and the auxiliary bishop in Ottawa , Joseph Raymond Windle .

Delisle attended the second, third and fourth sessions of the Second Vatican Council . On July 30, 1972, Pope Paul VI. the resignation put forward by Auguste Delisle.
