Augustine (Lavant)

Augustine († May 22, 1392 in Venzone ) was Bishop of Lavant .

Augustine was initially the prior of the Augustinian monastery in Brno and was friends with the later Patriarch of Aquileja Johann Sobieslaus . This appointed him on March 7, 1387 bishop of Concordia, the confirmation by Pope Urban VI. took place on March 7, 1389. In 1387, Bishop Augustin concluded a treaty with Venice.

In 1390 Pope Boniface IX provided. Bishop Augustin with the diocese of Lavant, but he did not come into its possession, as he was involved in numerous disputes with the local nobility as the patriarch's commissioner. On May 22, 1392 he was murdered in revenge in Venzone and buried there.
