Dietrich Wolfhauer

Dietrich Wolfhauer (* 2nd half of the 13th century; † December 21, 1332 ) was Bishop of Lavant .

Dietrich Wolfhauer came from a Styrian knight family and received his doctorate in 1307. iur. and from 1306 was provost of Stift Gurnitz. In the battles for the throne he was on the side of Duke Friedrich III. the beautiful and led his embassy to Aragon, who wooed the hand of Isabella of Aragon .

On October 1, 1317 he was by the Salzburg Archbishop Friedrich III. von Leibnitz appointed Bishop of Lavant. In 1318 he also became secretary to Duke Friedrich, who gave him the title of " Prince Bishop ". In 1320 he was commissioned by Pope John XXII. in Avignon, who on this occasion also gave him the parish of Graz. In 1324 the Pope appointed him collector and executor for the church tithe in the Habsburg lands.
