Nikolaus von Unhoscht

Nikolaus von Unhoscht (Czech: Mikuláš z Unhoště ; † between February 9 and August 4, 1400 ) was elected bishop of Lavant .

Nikolaus von Unhoscht was a Franciscan from Unhošť west of Prague and confessor of the Bohemian King Wenceslaus IV. On his behalf, he traveled to Rome in 1390 to attend the visit of the king to Pope Boniface IX. prepare. While the Salzburg Archbishop Pilgrim II von Puchheim appointed the later Bishop Konrad Torer von Törlein as administrator of the diocese Lavant, the Pope made Nikolaus von Unhoscht bishop on January 11, 1391. Nicholas returned to Bohemia on January 23, without ever having taken possession of the Lavant diocese, which he renounced that same year. He was never ordained a bishop either. King Wenzel then procured him the parish of Jeschnitz (Jesenice) in Central Bohemia.
