Ulrich von Haus

Ulrich von Haus († September 25, 1257 ) was the first bishop of Lavant .

Ulrich von Haus had been pastor in Haus im Ennstal since 1180, and chaplain to Archbishop of Salzburg, Eberhard von Regensberg , since 1218 . On May 10, 1228 he appointed him the first bishop of the third Salzburg diocese Lavant. Ulrich swore an oath of allegiance in the presence of the Salzburg cathedral chapter , his consecration took place on May 14, 1228 in Straubing, in addition to the dukes of Bavaria and Carinthia, King Heinrich VII was also present.

Since Ulrich initially had no income, he was allowed to keep the parish house. In 1230 he was also awarded the parish of St. Peter am Kammersberg near Murau. It was not until 1244 that the diocese of Lavant received a small diocesan territory.

Ulrich von Haus was a frequent companion of the Salzburg archbishop and represented him in 1232 when the Premonstratensian monastery was founded in Griffen .
