Augustinus Heinrich Count Henckel von Donnersmarck OPraem (born June 29, 1935 in Nakło Castle (Nakło Śląskie), Upper Silesia ; † August 19, 2005 in Duisburg ; actually Maria Heinrich Karl Edwin Jakob Peter-Paul Lazarus Count Henckel von Donnersmarck ) was a German Premonstratensian -Choron of Hamborn Abbey, Roman Catholic theologian and business ethicist.

Heinrich Henckel von Donnersmarck came from the noble family of Henckel von Donnersmarck . He was one of five children from the marriage of Count Lazarus Henckel von Donnersmarck (1902-1991) and Franziska Countess and Noble Mistress von und zu Eltz called Faust von Stromberg (1905-1997).

Life

Henckel von Donnersmarck joined the Premonstratensians in red in 1954 with the religious name Augustine and studied Catholic theology at various religious schools and the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome . In 1959 he was among the founders of the Premonstratensians' St. Johann in Duisburg - Hamborn , where he in 1961 by Eugène Cardinal Tisserant the ordination received. In Hamborn Abbey he worked as a treasurer, pastor and high school teacher. Henckel von Donnersmarck was invested in the Order of Knights of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem in 1967 . From 1970 to 1975 he was spiritual rector and lecturer at the Diocesan Academy of the Diocese of Essen and from 1976 to 1986 he headed the Catholic Office for the Rhine-Ruhr. From 1975 to 1998 Henckel von Donnersmarck was cathedral preacher at the Essen cathedral . He was honorary cathedral capitular at the high cathedral churches in Cologne (1994) and Essen.

From 1985 to 2000 he took over the management of the Catholic office in Düsseldorf as the representative of the Catholic bishops in the state parliament and state government of North Rhine-Westphalia .

In 1996 he founded the management consultancy Unicorn Consultants GmbH in Düsseldorf , where he acted as a managing partner in trust for his order.

In business circles, Henckel von Donnersmarck was a renowned consultant for business ethics . He was a consultant for corporations such as BMW and Dresdner Bank as well as the Deutsche Bundesbank , a. a. also from Alfred Herrhausen , with whom he was friends, and Helmut Kohl .

From January 2004 he held the post of cathedral preacher in Cologne for a short time before he had to leave office for health reasons and died in August 2005. He was buried in the cemetery of the Abbey Church of St. Johann in Hamborn .

Honors

Henckel von Donnersmarck was awarded the Order of Merit of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia on May 13, 1996 .
