The Auron is a river in France that runs in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and Center-Val de Loire regions. It rises in the municipality of Couleuvre , generally drains in a north-westerly direction and flows into the Yèvre as a left tributary after 77 kilometers in the urban area of Bourges . In its upper reaches it was dammed up to the reservoir Étang de Goule and used to supply water to the former canal Canal de Berry . It first crosses under the northeast section of the canal and reaches the northwest section at Bannegon , which follows it as a side canal until it flows into the Yèvre . On its way, the Auron crosses the Allier and Cher departments .
