history

The Marienbad area, depopulated by the plague , was settled by German immigrants in the 14th century. Already in the Middle Ages they used the acidic mineral water of the local springs, first of all the Auschowitz spring, which was later called the Ferdinand spring. With the construction of bathhouses in Auschowitz and in the immediately neighboring Marienbad as well as the connection of Marienbad to the railway network in 1872, the boom as a health resort began in the 19th century . In the crown land of Bohemia in the Austro-Hungarian monarchy , the place belonged to the judicial district Marienbad in the district of Marienbad ; After the First World War, the place came to Czechoslovakia in 1918 . Through the Munich Agreement he came to the German Reich in 1938 and in 1941 by order of Konrad Henlein , with a population of just over 4,000, was incorporated into Marienbad, which was almost twice as large, with which it had grown together. In 1945, after the end of the Second World War, the place came back to Czechoslovakia. The German population was expropriated in the course of the expulsion of the Germans from Czechoslovakia and forced to leave the place.

Since 1960 a line of the Marienbad trolleybus network (served by lines 3 and 7) has crossed the Úšovice district. In 1991 the place had 6035 inhabitants. In 2001 Úšovice consisted of 594 houses in which 5880 people lived.
