The district of Böttcherberg
The district of Böttcherberg ⊙ in the Frankenforst district to the northwest in the area of the former railway line to Rösrath owes its name to the former name of the An der Bottscherbach , because it was adjacent to the Böttcherbach . The original cadastre records the settlement in the municipality of Bensberg -Honschaft. The defining word Böttcher / Botcher is derived from the Old High German "botecher" (= Fassbinder, Büttner). It denotes the manufacturer of large wooden barrels. Presumably a cooper had his apartment or workshop here. Today the Frankenforst industrial park is here .
