The B / One is a sporty keelboat with a gennaker . It was developed by Farr Yacht Design and was manufactured and distributed by Bavaria Yachtbau between early 2012 and around 2016 .

General

The B / One is a pleasure craft with a gennaker and lifting keel . In the recreational area it can be sailed by two people, for regattas it has to be driven with three or four crew members. Measured against the size of the boat, the boat has a large cockpit and is equipped with a slip cabin. The ballast of 370 kg, the draft of 1.60 m and the large boat width contribute to the stability of the boat. The sails consist of a jib , mainsail and gennaker. The boat can be slipped for transport with the keel lifted up or loaded with a crane, the trailer weight is around 1400 kg, the trailer width is 2.50 m, so that the boat can be pulled by a medium-sized car anywhere in Europe.

hull

Hull and deck of the B / One are in the hand rest in Sandwich - laminate made with coremat as Sanwichlage. The large floor pan and the deck stringer are glued in, the boat has no bulkheads . The mast is supported by a mast support and two additional supports at the front end of the cockpit on the floor pan. The keel fin is a solid, extruded aluminum profile, the keel bomb is made of cast iron . The rudder blade is made of a hollow aluminum profile.

Rig

The B / One is equipped with a partial rig with swept spreader , which works without backstays and backstays . The main sail is strongly exposed in the upper area. Since the shape of the sail is almost elliptical, the air resistance induced by the sail is minimized. The jib overlaps only minimally so that it can be sheeted within the shrouds . The bending of the mast is determined by the shroud relaxation and the boom vang . The main sheet is attached to a cockpit , which in turn is attached to the cockpit floor. The mainsail can also be trimmed with a Cunningham and foot straightener. The double-geared jib sheet is diverted to windward via an additional block . The gennaker is driven on an extendable gennaker boom which is attached to the deck in a hollow open towards the bow.

Cruising sailing

In the basic configuration, the B / One has no interior fittings. It is possible to build a V- berth in the foredeck and two more tubular berths in the cabin . The boat has a single railing in the cockpit area . Together with an optional motor mount for outboard motors up to 2.6 kW , the ship can be used for smaller tours.

regatta

So far, no class regattas have been organized with the boat, as both the national and international class associations are under construction. The boat has already been used in several regattas, such as Cowes Week and the Championships 2012 on the Outer Alster .

The B / One was from the first season 2014 to the second season 2015 boat class of the second sailing league and was used in qualifying regattas.

According to the current class rules , a Ragattacrew must consist of at least three sailors. The crew weight is limited to 320 kg. There are no riding aids such as belts or harnesses.
