The BC Stuttgart in 1891 (officially: Billiard Club Stuttgart 1891 eV ) is a billiards club from Stuttgart . The club, founded in 1891, has played in the 1st snooker league since 2013 and was German snooker champion in 2014 and 2017 . He also played for several years in the 2nd three-cushion Bundesliga and the 2nd pool billiards Bundesliga .

history

BC Stuttgart was founded on March 24, 1891 as the first billiards club in Germany. In 1911 he was a founding member of the German Amateur Billiards Association , the predecessor association of the German Billiards Union . After the game was no longer possible because of the Second World War , the club could play on two carom tables from 1951 .

The pool team rose in 2006 to the major league and a year later to the third-class Baden-Württemberg league. There they came in second place in the 2008/09 season and thus qualified for the newly introduced regional league, in which the Stuttgart team came fourth in 2011. In the 2011/12 season they achieved first place with just one defeat and thus rose to the 2nd Bundesliga for the first time , in which, however, a year later with seventh place, three points behind Fortuna Bexbach , relegation followed. In the 2012/13 season, BC Stuttgart rose to sixth place in the regional league in the league, in the following season with 12 wins from 12 league games, the promotion was achieved. In the 2014/15 season he was able to stay fifth in the Regionalliga. A year later followed with the sixth place of relegation to the league.

In 2010 , with Simone Künzl , a player from BC Stuttgart became German individual champion for the first time .

The snooker team of BC Stuttgart 1891 rose to the 2nd Bundesliga for the first time in 2007 . After finishing fifth there in 2008 and fourth in 2009, she reached first place in the 2009/10 season with four points ahead of BSC Kissing and thus made it to the 1st Bundesliga . There the club was in the following season, two points behind Kissing and the Münchner SC , seventh and rose again to the second division. After the promotion was missed in the 2010/11 season as third place with seven points behind SC Neu-Ulm , it succeeded in the following season when the Stuttgart took first place with only two defeats this season. In 2014 BC Stuttgart succeeded as the third club after Breakers Rüsselsheim and Barmer Billardfreunde to become German champions. With just one defeat, the Stuttgart -based company took first place, eight points ahead of second-placed SAX-MAX Dresden . In the 2014/15 season, BC 1891 finished fourth with 20 points. A year later they came in three points behind the SC 147 Essen in second place.

In the season 2016/17 , the Stuttgart started with two draws against Snooker factory Berlin and the first DSC Hannover and occupied after the first league weekend the relegation place. This was followed by eight wins in a row. On the eleventh day of the match, BC Stuttgart, who had been in first place since the sixth day, lost the top game in the runner-up 1. SC Mayen-Koblenz , who thus moved up to BC with equal points. With three away wins in the remaining three games, BC Stuttgart stayed in first place until the end of the season due to the higher number of individual games won. The Stuttgart team secured their second German championship title after 2014 with a 6-2 win over defending champions SC 147 Essen on the last day of the match.

The three-band team of BC Stuttgart 1891 rose to the 2nd Bundesliga for the first time in 1995 . After the league was just managed to stay in seventh place in the 1996/97 season, the Stuttgart-based team was relegated in 1998 to seventh place. In 2003 they returned to the second division, from which they were ninth, one point behind BC Regensburg , but after just one season they were relegated. In 2013, Stuttgart rose again to the 2nd Bundesliga, which was followed a year later with ninth place, one point behind TSG Heilbronn , and relegation followed again. In the 2014/15 season, the club was second in the major league, one point behind the second team of Ravensburger BC . Also in the following season they finished second.

The two-time Cadre World Champion Erich Hagenlocher was a member of BC Stuttgart 1891.
