The Bombardier Challenger 300 (also known as the Bombardier BD-100-1A10 Challenger 300 by the manufacturer ) is a super-midsize business jet for transcontinental distances from the Canadian company Bombardier Aerospace .
history
The project was started in 1998 and presented on July 13, 1999 at the Paris Air Show under the name Bombardier Continental . After extensive studies, the jet was renamed to its current name in September 2002. It made its maiden flight in August 2001. It was approved by the Canadian Aviation Safety Authority in May 2003, followed by the FAA in June 2003, the JAA in July 2003, the European Joint Aviation Authorities in August 2003 and the first delivery in January 2004 followed. More than 230 aircraft of this type had been delivered by mid-2008, 51 of which left the final assembly line in Montreal in 2007 alone.
The aircraft is equipped with modern avionics e.g. B. the Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 glass cockpit equipped with 4 LCD screens (30 × 25 cm), FADEC and a TCAS system, as well as the modern cabin management and inflight entertainment system nice system ( Networked Integrated Cabin Equipment ) from Lufthansa Technik . It is manufactured in conventional metal construction with a few composite components. At EBACE 2013, the manufacturer announced that it would bring the Challenger 350 onto the market as a further development of the Challenger 300.
