In the north Elstorf-Bachheide borders on Elstorf, in the north-east on Schwiederstorf , in the east on Sieversen and Langenrehm , in the south on Emsen, Rade and Ohlenbüttel , in the south-west on Eversen and Eversen-Heide, in the west on Grauen and in the north-west on Ardestorf. In terms of nature, Elstorf-Bachheide is located on the eastern edge of the Apenser Lehmgeest .

history

Elstorf-Bachheide was only created as a village in the 20th century. Before that it was heather. In 1856 a carrion cave was created here on the southern edge of the Elstorfer Feldmark.

As in Eversen-Heide, most citizens moved from bombed-out Hamburg to Bachheide after the Second World War . Hell was a field name. Another name for the area was Rachheid , which later became the High German word Bachheide due to a reading error .

After the Second World War, Erich Voss, who moved from Bostelbek during the war, opened a snake farm, which he ran until 1962. Elstorf-Bachheide became part of the Elstorf district in Neu Wulmstorf when the Neu Wulmstorf community was founded on July 1, 1972.

The federal road 3 runs directly on the eastern edge of the village, which leads north via Elstorf and Ovelgönne to the B 73 and in the south via Rade, Mienenbüttel and the motorway junction 44 of the federal motorway 1 on to the B 75 near Buchholz. The district road 52 leads to Sieversen and Tötensen and the K 31 in the southwest via Eversen and Grauen to Appel and Hollenstedt .

The nearest train stations are Neu Wulmstorf and Buxtehude on the Niederelbebahn S-Bahn Hamburg S 3 and Sprötze on the Wanne-Eickel – Hamburg line .
