criticism

The Entertainment Weekly evaluated Back on My BS critically with a grade of "C +". In addition to good songs that are stylistically based on older pieces by the rapper ( Don't Believe Em ), Rhymes uses current trends in various songs, such as the use of auto-tune for the title Hustler's Anthem '09 . The worst song is Arab Money , which combines ethnic stereotypes with an unpleasant, shrill hookline .

For David Jeffries, who wrote a rating for the All Music Guide , Back on My BS represents an increase on the previous album The Big Bang . The album does not bring Busta Rhymes back to the top of the best rappers, but is a step in that direction .

The German e-zine Laut.de awarded three out of a possible five rating points to Back on My BS. The editor Dani Fromm particularly praised the production of the album. For example, DJ Scratch provides " rhythmically playful drums for an almost minimalist basis " for Rhymes' lecture. Even Pharrell music for Kill The and Ron Browz ' Arab Money For positive criticism. Busta Rhymes can also hear the fun of his music. However, according to Fromm, the high level at the beginning of the album could not be maintained, which she attaches to “ synth sounds and autotune standards ”. Sugar uses cliché elements of rhythm and blues . The guest contributions by Jamie Foxx, Mary J. Blige and Common on Decision and Estelle's contribution on World Go Round are also rated negatively. Despite the album's weaknesses, Busta Rhymes is praised as " an unbroken great MC ".
