Badisch-Schöllenbach is part of the Friedrichsdorf district, a district of Eberbach in the Rhein-Neckar district in Baden-Württemberg . Badisch-Schöllenbach forms in the northeast, like Brombach in the west, an exclave of Eberbach, which is separated from the city by the Hessian area. Furthermore, the place is separated from the Hessian Schöllenbach by a state border and is therefore one of the territorial peculiarities in southwest Germany .
Geographical location
Badisch-Schöllenbach is twelve and a half kilometers north-northeast of the core town of Eberbach. The location at the confluence of the Euterbach and Schöllenbach rivers comprises around 16 built-up and inhabited properties, distributed over the streets of Hesselbacher Weg, Mainzer Weg and Im Hochfeld . The Badisch-Schöllenbach exclave occupies the left eastern side of the valley of the Itterbach and is surrounded on three sides by the state border with Hesse and by suburbs of the town of Oberzent . In the northeast, the district borders Hesselbach , in the west lies Schöllenbach and the southernmost tip of the Badisch-Schöllenbach exclave ends shortly before Kailbach . The district of Schloßau is adjacent to the east .
The southern end of the Badisch-Schöllenbach exclave is around 2100 meters north of the Friedrichsdorf core area. The exclave covers an area of around 234.6 hectares and is completely forested with the exception of the floodplains on the Itter and an area of almost 14 hectares around the locality. In the north, Badisch-Schöllenbach has a share in the Eutersee .
The highest point of the exclave is in the east at the small fort Jägerwiese of the Neckar-Odenwald-Limes at 495 m above sea level. NN . The lowest point is in the Itter floodplain at Kailbacher Tor at approx. 245 m above sea level. NN .
history
The course of the Itter was originally an old rule border. The area of Lorsch Abbey , which later belonged to the Erbach rulership, ended here . To the east of the Itter and opposite the village of Schöllenbach, which has been documented since 1344, with the spring church built in 1465 as a pilgrimage church , a courtyard was built that belonged to the Electorate of Mainz . The courtyard was first mentioned in 1350 and was already divided in 1552, and in 1668 three courtyards were mentioned. In 1803 there were finally six houses.
The place came with Amorbach Monastery in 1803 to the Principality of Leiningen and in 1806 to the Grand Duchy of Baden . In 1925 Badisch-Schöllenbach was incorporated into Friedrichsdorf and subsequently came to the city of Eberbach on January 1, 1973.

There are no roads classified as supra-local through Badisch-Schöllenbach. The Hesselbacher Weg connects the location by means of a bridge over the Euterbach with the state road 3108 running on the Hessian valley side , which connects the place with Eberbach. In Schöllenbach in Hesse, only 360 meters from the bridge, there is a connection to the Odenwaldbahn at the Schöllenbach stop .
