The 5th edition of the European Badminton Cup took place in 1982 in Edegem , Belgium . As expected, the Danish defending champion Gentofte BK clearly prevailed. He defeated the Dutch representative BC Duinwijck 6-1 in the final, after the German representative TuS Wiebelskirchen had clearly been eliminated 6-1 in the semifinals . For BC Duinwijck, on the other hand, the successful years were over, and national dominance in the league was also lost.
