European Cup (Badminton)
In this sport, the European Badminton Cup is the analogue of the Champions League in football . In this badminton competition for club teams, the best club team on the continent has been determined among the national champions of the member associations of the European Badminton Union (BE) since 1978 . In 1999 the BC Eintracht Südring Berlin won the title, in 2010 the 1st BC Bischmisheim followed . The first BV Mülheim , the FC Langenfeld and the first BC Beuelfailed in 1978, 2004 and 2005 in the final. In 2006, the CB Rinconada used a player who was not eligible to play in the final, so that the winning team was subsequently stripped of the title and the finalist IBMC Issy-les-Moulineaux was awarded the victory. The two losers in the semifinals moved up to second place, so that for the first time in the history of the European Cup there were two silver medalists.
