The Passeig de Gràcia station is an underground regional station (formerly also a long-distance station) operated by the Spanish infrastructure operator Adif in the Catalan metropolis of Barcelona .

Located in the Eixample district on Passeig de Gràcia street of the same name , the train station is centrally located and an important transport hub in Barcelona. In terms of traffic, it is located in the Aragó Tunnel , one of the two tunnels that leave Barcelona-Sants station in an easterly direction. It is also located on the connection between Sants and Barcelona-França train station, and for this reason it used to play an important role in RENFE's long-distance network. The Barcelona-Arc de Triomf train station is around a kilometer away and is located in another important railway tunnel.

Long-distance transport

Until the high-speed line Madrid – Barcelona – French border went into operation , the station was a long-distance stop. The long-distance trains to and from Madrid-Chamartin ran on broad gauge and with different train types to the Estació de França and stopped in Passeig de Grácia. In addition, there was long-distance traffic on the broad-gauge line to Cerbère and beyond with remeasurable Talgo units.

The Rodalies Barcelona S-Bahn system serves the station with the lines R2 (Castelldefels – Granollers Center), R2Nord (Airport – Maçanet-Massanes) and the R2Sud line (França – Sants – Vilanova i la Geltrú – Sant Vicenç de Calders) . These routes are the result of the renovation work at the train stations in Sant Andreu in northeast Barcelona on the occasion of the new long-distance and regional train station Sagrera , otherwise the lines R2 (Maçanet-Massanes-Sant Vicenç de Calders) and the line R10 (França- Barcelona airport ) run from here.
