Three railway lines end in the station. The French cross-border railway line Portet-Saint-Simon-Puigcerdà is interrupted shortly before the former end point Puigcerdà , the trains end in Latour-de-Carol. The steep mountain route coming from the Garonne valley is standard-lane , single-track and electrified with 1500 volts direct current by means of a contact wire . Platform 1, where trains usually end, is the longest covered platform in France.
From Puigcerdà comes a double-track line, with the eastern track having the European standard gauge, the western one the Iberian broad gauge . The regular-gauge track is no longer used, traffic to and from Spain is carried out exclusively with Renfe broad-gauge vehicles . These trains end at the former border clearing island platform 2. The broad-gauge track is electrified with contact wire and a DC voltage of 3000 volts.
At the southern end of platform 1, on its north side, the narrow-gauge trains of the Ligne de Cerdagne end . The trains coming from Villefranche-de-Conflent run on meter gauge tracks and receive their direct current of 850 volts from a busbar attached to the side . A direct transfer to and from the trains in the direction of Portet-Saint-Simon is possible via platform 1.
